With the e-invoicing integration in TimeChimp, you can send your invoices securely and directly via the European Peppol network. Instead of an email with a PDF, the invoice lands directly as data in your client's accounting software. This is faster, more secure, and reduces the risk of errors.
In this article, we explain the requirements, the use of credits, and how to check whether your clients can receive invoices via Peppol.
1. Requirements for access
The e-invoicing module is available for customers with an Advanced or Professional subscription. However, before you can start, one important security step is required: the KYC check.
KYC Status (Know Your Customer): To prevent fraud on the Peppol network, only customers with an approved KYC status are allowed to activate the module.
Status unknown or not approved? You cannot enable e-invoicing yet. Please contact our support department to request the KYC check.
Data locked: Please note! Once your KYC status is approved, your verified company details are final. From that moment on, it is no longer possible to change the following data in TimeChimp yourself:
Name of your organization
Address details
KvK / KBO number
VAT number
2. How it works: Sending vs. Receiving
It is important to understand the role TimeChimp plays within the Peppol network.
Sending (Creditor): TimeChimp registers you as a sender. This means you can send invoices to government bodies and companies connected to Peppol.
Receiving (Debtor): TimeChimp does not register you to receive invoices.
What does this mean for you? Because TimeChimp does not register you as a receiver, you will not appear in the official Peppol Directory via TimeChimp. If you wish to receive e-invoices from suppliers yourself, you must arrange this through another party, such as your accounting software (e.g., Yuki). They will then register you as a 'Debtor'.
Note: Your clients can receive your invoices, but you will not receive invoices in TimeChimp via Peppol.
3. Credits and Costs
To use e-invoicing, we utilize a credit system.
Special Offer: We are currently offering 1000 free credits to all eligible customers.
These credits are valid until 31-12-2026.
How do the credits work?
1 credit = 1 sending attempt.
A credit is deducted the moment you press 'send'.
This applies to both successful transmissions and unsuccessful attempts (for example, if the client's Chamber of Commerce/CoC number is incorrect). Therefore, please verify your client's details carefully before sending.
4. Can my client receive Peppol invoices?
Not every company is connected to the Peppol network. Before sending an invoice, it is wise to check if your client can receive it.
You can easily look this up in the public Peppol Directory:
Type in the name or the ID (e.g., CoC number, KBO number, or VAT number) of your client.
If the client appears in the list, they can receive e-invoices.
