The TimeChimp MCP server connects your TimeChimp data directly to Claude. This integration is currently in a read-only phase. Claude can only read and look up information to help you analyze it; it cannot overwrite, add, or change anything in your TimeChimp administration.

In this phase, Claude has access to two information streams: your projects and your time tracking (hours).

Connect the integration

Follow the steps below to connect Claude to the TimeChimp MCP server.

  1. Open Claude in your web browser.

  2. Go to the sidebar and click on 'Customize'.

  3. Click on the 'Connectors' tab.

  4. Click the '+' button on the right side of the 'Connectors' header.

  5. A modal will open. In the 'Name' field, type: TimeChimp

  6. In the 'Remote MCP server URL' field, paste this exact link: https://mcp.timechimp.com/mcp

  7. Leave the remaining fields empty and click 'Add'.

  8. Claude has now created a page for TimeChimp. Click on 'Connect'.

  9. A new page will open to grant access. Click 'Allow access'.

  10. Log in with your TimeChimp email address and password.

  11. The TimeChimp MCP server is now connected to Claude.

Managing endpoint permissions

Once connected, you can manage permissions for the different endpoints. An endpoint is the specific route Claude uses to fetch a certain type of data.

For each endpoint, you can choose from three options:

  • Always allow: Claude accesses this data automatically whenever you ask a question about it, without asking for confirmation.

  • Needs approval: Every time Claude wants to fetch data from this endpoint, it will first ask for explicit permission in the chat.

  • Blocked: Claude is completely blocked from reading data from this endpoint.

Testing the connection

Open a new chat in Claude and ask a question about your hours or projects.

Examples for projects:

  • "What is the status of project Nova?"

  • "Which clients have the highest budget?"

  • "Show projects without activity this month."

Examples for time tracking:

  • "How many hours did the team log this week?"

  • "Summarize the hours logged per project."

  • "Give me a quick report of last month."
