About the integration

Jira is a tool for teams to plan projects, manage activities and track workflow processes. With the integration, your team can easily register time in TimeChimp directly from Jira. The time registrations are then immediately linked to the correct Jira ticket.

Ticket sidebar

Old In the old situation, the sidebar had input fields for Project / Task, Choose project, Choose task and Description (optional).

New In the new 'Create TimeChimp entry' sidebar, you register your hours directly via the following fields:

  • Project: Select the project the ticket belongs to.

  • Activity: Choose the specific activity you performed.

  • Date: The date of your registration.

  • Hours: The number of hours worked.

  • Start (optional) / End (optional): It is now possible to enter a specific start and end time for your time registration.

  • Notes: Add your description or remarks here.

Click on 'Save entry' to save the registration directly, or click on 'Start timer' to track time live.

Linking time registrations

You can still link your time registrations to a Jira ticket as you are used to, but this process has been greatly improved and simplified.

Linking existing registrations

Old Previously, unlinked registrations had to be linked afterwards via the general dashboard under 'Link time entries'.

New It is now much easier to link existing registrations in TimeChimp directly from a specific Jira ticket.

  1. Within the opened Jira ticket, click on the "Link to this issue" button under the heading 'Link your TimeChimp time entries'.

  2. A pop-up named 'Link Time Entry to issue' opens with an overview of your hours for the current week.

  3. Locate the correct registration and click on the blue "Link time entry" button to link it directly to the opened Jira ticket.

Please note: employees still have the option to manually select a different TimeChimp project.
