It is possible to easily and quickly import your customers from Xero. It is also possible to send invoices and sales transactions to Xero.
Activate integration
To integrate with Xero, go to Settings (gear icon) in the main menu -> App Center and click on the Xero app. Activate the integration here for free.
While activating you will be automatically redirected to Xero to enter your login details.
After activation of the link, it is of paramount importance that you choose the correct administration and default product. Then enter the correct journal sale code and ledger account of debtors code as created in Xero.
Make sure that the currency set in Xero is the same as the currency entered in TimeChimp (Settings -> Regional).
Import customers
Once you have set up the integration, it is possible to import your customers from Xero to TimeChimp. Go to your settings (via the gear icon) and click on import. Then you import your customers easily and quickly from Salesforce. The integration looks at the client number. Does your customer exist in Xero and in TimeChimp? Make sure they have the same client number (account number in Xero) so that the system recognizes them as equivalent.
Import successful? Then you will find the imported customers under Administration -> Clients.
Do you want your customers to automatically enter TimeChimp? Indicate this under Settings > Xero. If desired, your (new) customers are automatically imported into TimeChimp every night.
Creating an invoice
It is easy to create an invoice in Xero from all registered hours, mileages and expenses in TimeChimp. Go to Reports -> hours/expenses/mileages and select the items you want to create an invoice of. Then choose Actions -> export to Xero.
From Finance -> Uninvoiced it is possible to invoice customers/projects in Xero. This could come in handy with projects that have a fixed price or subscription as invoicing method.
Creating sales transactions
Do you want to use the invoicing module of Timechimp? Then first create and send an invoice in TimeChimp and thereafter create a sales transaction in Xero.
This can be done under Financial -> Invoices or directly from the detail page of an invocice. Just choose Actions -> Create sales transaction in Xero. Note that the invoice has to be sent to be able to click on this option. When the sales transaction is created, you can find the created items under Journals in Xero.
